Training - Recruitment, Leadership & Becoming Work Ready
Our specialist area of training is in Recruitment having extensive experience in working in the industry as Recruitment Consultants, Internal recruiters and in Human Resources.

Our programme of public open courses delivered in Kent to Recruitment companies in the South East of England and London, builds on this experience and offers an opportunity to develop people new to recruitment or existing members of staff that need refreshers, in an environment where they can meet like-minded individuals from other companies.

Our training programmes are highly practical and interactive, which allows everyone to practice and develop their skills. Delegates return to their working environments after one day's training to practice what they have learnt, then share their experiences in the following weeks with the other students in their next training courses.

Our in-house tailor made courses on recruitment and leadership allow companies to personalise their training programme.  A consultant will visit your premises to understand your business and market sector, then write a training course that specifically suits your business needs.

Our 'Becoming Work Ready' programme is aimed at young people whilst still at school, college or university or for recent school, college or university leavers, rehabilitating offenders or anyone that feels they need to gain employability skills.  It is delivered throughout Kent, Medway and London.

Coaching - Youth & Adult
Our Coaching focuses on building confidence in youths and helping adults with career changes and personal development.  We are passionate about helping others to achieve their full potential in the quickest and most effortless way possible.

Company History

  Alison Mannell MBA MIRP
started Firebird Training having identified that companies in the South East of England were finding it hard to source and retain staff in the recruitment industry.

She started in recruitment in 1995 and has worked for Small, Medium and Large UK and International Recruitment Organisations in London, Australia and Kent.

She has extensive experience in Contract, Temporary and Permanent Recruitment in both the private and public sectors and has worked as an Internal Recruiter in Human Resources so has experience of Recruiters from the other side!

She also works closely with local colleges and employers to aid and give advice on their recruitment campaigns to employ young people.

Having worked for many years with young peole and employers, Alison realised that there is a distinct lack of social and life skills in young people entering the employment market and hears repeatedly employers saying that young people lack employability skills.  Working closely with employers, Alison put together a 'Becoming Work Ready' programme which was launched in 2008 and has had some very positive feedback with great results.

Her mission is to positively affect the lives of 100,000 young people to help them build confidence, self-esteem and motivation to succeed in life by the end of 2014.

Alison is a member of The REC Institute of Recruitment Professionals (MIRP), has a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) specialising in Human Resources, Marketing, Organisational & Financial Strategy, is a qualified Youth Coach and Personal Performance Coach through The Coaching Academy, is a qualified Certified User of Thomas Interational's Personal Profile Analysis and is a qualified NVQ Assessor.
